This kitchen was in need of a complete overhaul. The room had previously been enlarged, by knocking-through into a small single-storey extension, with a sloping roof and low horizontal window limiting daylight and outlook.
The existing extension was remodelled: a new flat roof with a parapet allowed the ceiling height to be increased, and the window opening was reconfigured to give better light levels and a view of the garden.
The layout of the kitchen was altered to a galley configuration, providing adequate storage and worktop space, and creating a well-proportioned, and very usable room. The existing kitchen units were replaced with modern white-fronted units, with built-in appliances and integrated lighting, to create a stylish, contemporary appearance.
